yay! this is what's going on ...

last night i had some cramping so i called the dr thiss morning and the nurse told me to go ahead and come in. i was so nervous driving over there, i almost pulled over to puke 3 times. turns out everything was PERFECT! Baby is measuring at 10weeks 1day but they wont change the due date unless it's still measuring larger at the aug 12th appt. Baby's heartbeat was a strong 178bpm all three times they checked it, and the sound of it was amazing!!! Also, baby is already active!! I got to see it kicking it's sweet little feet!!! SUCH a relief and a great feeling! Dr.Beck told me I could go ahead and tell everyone bc this little bumble bee is very healthy and active!!!

it feels SOOOOOOO good that the secret is out!!!!!!

Pregnancy Highlights

How Far along? 9 weeks 1 day

Size of the Baby? green olive early in the week, then graduating to a prune!! a prune seems big!

Maternity Clothes? not yet.. pants still uncomfortable

Gender? still feeling like its a baby girl :)

Movement? Definitely not.

Sleep? Still sleeping well and enjoying sleeping on my stomach for these last few weeks that i still can :)

Cravings? Nope, but aversions galore. Any international food ... BLEH!!! An im usually mexican and japanese's #1 fan... right now. that sounds horrific! I am finally eating some meat again. We had Five Guys tonight, it was good!

Symptoms? Symptoms are SLOWLY but SURELY fading. the nausea is coming in waves now instead of being constant. It's definitely worse in the morning when I wake up and at night when im trying to fall asleep. My *ahem* lady lumps are K-I-L-L-I-N-G meeeee!!! I wish I had started off in the itty bitty titty committee before this pregnancy because these things are in.the.way. Haha sorry for the TMI but I don't know how much bigger and painful they can get. Does that go away?? Other than that, I'm feeling better this week. Still getting an occasional headache.

What I miss? FALL AND WINTER!!! haha this isnt even pregnancy related but i CANT WAIT for cooler weather. This heat is so yesterday. Longing for the crisp afternoon winds, a pumpkin spice latte, and toting a blanket with me to Friday night football games!!

Milestones? None with the baby. But my birthday is on Sunday!!! A quarter of a century... eek!

Baby Center Update for week 9: Your baby's growth is fast and furious this week. He or she is nearly an inch and a half long and the size of a prune, but not nearly as shriveled (even with all the time it spends in water). In fact, your baby is really taking a human shape now. Bones and cartilage are forming, and small indentations on the legs are developing into knees and ankles. The arms (complete with elbows) can flex already, but don't run to the store for a baseball bat just yet. Though your baby's arms are taking shape and getting stronger, each one is only about the size of this number 1. The tooth bud fairy is making her appearance this week, heralding the arrival of your baby's little choppers, which are forming under the gums. (Those pearly whites won't break through the gums until your baby is close to six months old). Other systems are go, too. Your baby's stomach is producing digestive juices, the kidneys are producing larger quantities of urine, and, if your baby's a boy, he's already producing testosterone (yikes!).

Will post pictures tomorrow... I swear I can tell a difference from those 6 wk pictures! !

six little toes???

it's called that because my husband...and his mother.. both have eleven toes total. six on one foot, five on the other. not like a little nub, but a whole, actual, toe :)

our baby has a 50/50 chance of having a "sixth" toe. and i think its super cool!!

with 3d/4d ultrasounds now, we may be able to find out before baby bee is born :)

just a little FYI incase you were confused on the blog title :)

Pregnancy Highlights

How Far along? 8 weeks 2 days

Size of the Baby? a raspberry at the beginning of the week, now a green olive!

Maternity Clothes? nope but pants are definitely uncomfortable

Gender? who the heck knows? we can do intelligender in less than 2 weeks :) but wont get to really find out until around the end of September

Movement? Definitely not.

Sleep? i would stay in bed all the time if i could bc it would mean no symptoms.

Cravings? Not really. Still more aversions than cravings.

Symptoms? Everything in the book. This week has been rough. Starting with nausea, then mix it up with some fever, headaches, sore throat, (luckily the fever and sore throat subsided) add in some AGONIZING constipation, more vomiting, incredibly sore boobs, and the occasional dizzy spell ... pretty sure that all equals FIRST TRIMESTER! get me out of here!!!

What I miss? actually WANTING to leave the house. going out to eat, driving, shopping, normal activities.

Milestones? The baby has already had it's first graduation!! yay baby!! :) It's now graduated from an embryo to a fetus :) Also, 8 weeks is typically a good, safe, milestone. A lot of people announce pregnancy this week, and if I keep being this sick, I might do the same.

Baby Center Update for week 8: Webbed fingers and toes are poking out from your baby's hands and feet, his eyelids practically cover his eyes, breathing tubes extend from his throat to the branches of his developing lungs, and his "tail" is just about gone. In his brain, nerve cells are branching out to connect with one another, forming primitive neural pathways. You may be daydreaming about your baby as one sex or the other, but the external genitals still haven't developed enough to reveal whether you're having a boy or a girl. Either way, your baby — about the size of a kidney bean — is constantly moving and shifting, though you still can't feel it.

please vote on my babynames list. ive always been obsessed with baby names and now they make me angry! i feel like nothing is good enough. so i comprised a few of our favorites on here and you let me know what you think! .... Marion, Victoria, Douglas, McDowell, James, Davis, Lynn, etc are all family names... that's why they are listed as middles :)

weekend from hell

sheeeeeeesh!!!!! i have been in absolute misery since thursday night. haven't left the house once. cried for a few hours straight on friday night. i can't throw up. i just constantly feel like if i move, im going to blow. and when i do start dry heaving, i just linger over the toilet for a while and nothing comes up. i've lost 3 lbs. and i've been MISERABLE!

Finally, today, I'm feeling a little better and was able tolerate eating lunch. i've been living off of potatoes (baked, mashed, or french fries) and i ate some rice last night. today i ate a bean burrito i had left over from taco casa. just beans and a small bit of cheese in a tortilla. it felt good to eat some protein.

i plan on calling the doctor in the morning and asking about the Zofran. I'd told him already that I was a little nauseated and he has had me taking B6 and Unisom at night. Also, I'd been wearing the Sea Bands all week and that had helped some. This weekend i've kept them on 24/7 even cutting off my circulation at night, but they seem to have lost their magic touch.

I keep telling everyone though, I think this is God's best way of reassuring me. Because I am a worrier and I KNOW if i was symptom free right now I would be freaking out that something was wrong. Being as sick as I've been, I know little baby bee must be thriving in there. And I know that this is all SO worth it :)

Just looking forward to Aug. 12th, when we go back to the doctor and get to see the baby actually looking like a baby instead of a peanut! After that appointment we're finally going to make it public knowledge and hopefully by then I'll be feeling better since I'll almost be 12 weeks!!

Thanks everyone for your love and support :)

7 week update

Pregnancy Highlights

How Far along? 7 weeks

Size of the Baby? a blueberry!

Maternity Clothes? no no

Gender? It's pretty much 50/50 ... a lot more people have joined the blue train, but i'm not movin! i truly believe baby bee is a SHE

Movement? Definitely not.

Cravings? I had that major ice cream craving the other night. i only ate a few bites of it and then became totally uninterested. ABSOLUTELY NO MEAT. if matt mentions meat, i get sick. i am about to get sick typing the word. About all I'm surviving on is potatoes (baked or mashed), biscuits, grilled cheese, gingerale, and goldfish.

Symptoms? NAUSEA. NAUSEA. NAUSEA. i rarely throw up, but I gag all the time and have the "spinning feeling" like if i move a muscle i'm going to get sick. im still breaking out! not AS bad on my face, but a lot on my upper back. my bras are getting smaller *rolls eyes*

What I miss? it would be nice to have a really cold beer in this heat. but i definitely dont MISS it yet. :)

Milestones? 7 weeks :) and seeing the baby at our first ultrasound and watching that little heart beat! 4 more weeks til our next doctor's appointment!

Babycenter stats: The big news this week: Hands and feet are emerging from developing arms and legs -- although they look more like paddles at this point than the tiny, pudgy extremities you're daydreaming about holding and tickling. Technically, your baby is still considered an embryo and has something of a small tail, which is an extension of her tailbone. The tail will disappear within a few weeks, but that's the only thing getting smaller. Your baby has doubled in size since last week and now measures half an inch long, about the size of a blueberry.

am i green?

i am so sick... everytime i look in the mirror i think i may see that i've in fact turned green.

i told matt earlier today though, i will take this sickness all day long knowing that little baby bee is thriving in there :)

the worst thing is, im not acutally getting sick... i have a few times, but i mostly just hover around the bathroom and gag. or sit here feeling like if i move a muscle im going to vomit all over the place. its like having the "spinning feeling" when you've drank too much, CONSTANTLY! half the time i feel like, if i could actually throw up, i would feel a lot better. but im also weary to "break the seal" ... like once i start what if i can't stop??

7 weeks tomorrow!!! will update then :)

ps- WATER by itself is GROSS!!!!! it takes like spit or something. i HAVE to put a sliver of lemon in it in order to drink it. HOW WEIRD???? haha

first serious craving

i am currently sitting here on the couch... and it just hit me like a load of bricks...

I just texted matt (who is upstairs) and said "Can we go to the store real quick?" and he said he'll be right down. So I am documenting to pass the time.

I dont even really like cookie dough ice cream?? i usually get like.. moose tracks, or rainbow sherbet. also, the only thing ive been able to hold down all day is a baked potato. so... the ice cream PROBBBBABLY isnt going to sit well, and I may never eat it again... but at this moment, nothing is more important.

Edy's here i come!!!!!!!!!!!

just for future reference

First Doctor's Appointment!! :)

Matt and I woke up this morning and headed to our first doctor's appointment!

We filled out paperwork out the wazoo. Then had a consultation with the nurse. Next we went into the ultrasound room for a regular old "girl doctor" exam and then an ultrasound!

It was CRAZY. one minute we're just sitting there talking and the next he's like there's your baby!! (even though it looks more like a peanut. Measuring just 0.58 cm right now, baby bolt is estimated to be 6 weeks and 2 or 3 days old... making my new and official due date February 29, 2012! A leap year baby! Matt said maybe we'll be on the news and get lots of cool stuff. I said... I think he/she will be late and end up a March baby. :) Tyler and I were both one day late. Matt thinks him and Kelleigh will early...need to verify with Cindy!! :)

Anyway, all of that was great! We met with the doctor and talked about all kinds of things and then he sent me to the lab to get my blood work. I told the nurse I was "not good at this" and I am very "faint of heart" and she said I'd be ok. I made it through her taking the blood. She put a bandaid on me and said sit there until you feel ok. About a minute later I remember her looking at me and saying "Are you ok?" and I just shook my head. I knew what was coming. I said... I feel like I'm going to throw up. She cracked open an ice pack and had me put it on my neck and was giving me breathing exercises. I remember saying, calmly "I can't see you" bc my vision had gone, but apparently after the one, calm and nice time I said it, the next time i yelled at her "I CANT SEE YOU!!!!" Then passed out. Matt said they shook and tapped me for about 30 seconds while I rolled my head around then she put something under my nose that woke me right up with a mild little seizure type convulsion! I swear (like every other time I pass out) I thought I was having a nice little dream, at home in my bed then wake up to nurses and Matt all around me going "Britt! Britt! Look at us! Talk to us!" And am like "whaaaaaat the heck??" Then I started gagging (loudly and embarassingly) and throwing up in a trash can. The nurse goes... "ok you told me you were faint of heart, not that you have vasovagal!" (Which is funny, bc that's exactly what I have). I said I dont know! I thought that's the same thing! Haha She assured me that next time she will let me lie down in one of the rooms to take that many viles!

I left feeling embarassed, and happy!!! Little Baby Bee had a good strong heart beat and a "good looking sac" - - not a boy... a yolk sac that will turn into placenta very soon. We get to see him/her again in exactly 5 weeks... on August 12th, where we will be just a few days away from the 2nd trimester!!! Wohooo! And when I will finally announce to everyone and share this blog with my other (neglected) blog!

Here is what the baby looked like last week.. but it was a good depiction of the yolk sac...

And HEEEEEEERE is the actual peanut: the dotted lines are measuring the actual baby.. the circle thing is the yolk sac and the whole black area its in is the gestational sac.... all the gray around it is the uterus.

so.. overall, today was a good day! just need to work on the passing out part :)

let it be known

as of 1:15 am this morning... the sickness has begun.

it started with me throwing up the LIQUIGEL vitamin that i take... fish oil. I thought I was going to die. haha!!! I can't even SMELL that thing when I take it, much less taste it. SICK!

Today is bad too. i just stomached some soup...we'll see how long it stays down.

on a happier note.. our first doctor's appointment is tomorrow morning!!!!!!!!!! we're so excited...and nervous!! say a prayer for us :)

Pregnancy Highlights

How Far along? 6 weeks

Size of the Baby? The size of a sweet pea... blueberry...lentil bean

Maternity Clothes? Not yet. The jeans are a little tight fitting, as I am bloated.

Gender? Still going with girl, although a lot of followers have jumped on the blue train!

Movement? Definitely not.

Sleep? WHENEVER I CAN! Naps are a regular occurrence! Most of my days are like ... wake up at 8:30, go to practice. come home, eat lunch. Take a nap from about 1:30-3:30. Then in bed before midnight.

Cravings? Mexican. But I have craved that my whole life, so I don't think it's little baby bee doing that. Apple Juice always sounds delicious!

Symptoms? BREAK OUTS!!!!!! I told Matt he could easily play connect the dots on my face if he'd like. Sometimes in the middle of a meal I become totally uninterested and feel nauseas, but haven't actaully thrown up yet. I'm very sleepy and I'm still a frequent visitor at the Oval Office.

What I miss? Nothing yet. I'm totally happy to be pregnant! :)

This week's major developments: The nose, mouth, and ears that you'll spend so much time kissing in eight months are beginning to take shape. If you could see into your uterus, you'd find an oversize head and dark spots where your baby's eyes and nostrils are starting to form. His emerging ears are marked by small depressions on the sides of the head, and his arms and legs by protruding buds. His heart is beating about 100 to 160 times a minute -- almost twice as fast as yours -- and blood is beginning to course through his body. His intestines are developing, and the bud of tissue that will give rise to his lungs has appeared. His pituitary gland is forming, as are the rest of his brain, muscles, and bones. Right now, your baby is a quarter of an inch long, about the size of a lentil bean.
