i know what the glow is...

You're glowing = your skin is OILY!

aka- BREAKOUTS!!!

Good thing everything I read says breakouts should clear up after the first trimester. I look like a 9th grader in need of some Clean & Clear.

It's backing up my suspicion of thinking this baby is a little girl. You know, the old wives tale, girls steal their mother's beauty.... yeah. Definitely not feeling very pretty right now :)

I will take oily skin and a pizza face for the rest of my life if it means getting to love this little baby, as well !! I hope you're healthy and happy in there Baby Bee !

flowers for baby!

Baby,

Even though we don't know if you are a "he" or a "she" yet, your Uncle Tree and Aunt Lollie brought you some pretty, yellow flowers and a pink and blue lolly pop! :)

Thanks Tree and Lauren!!! :)

due date change #1 and our weekend

I'm sure my due date will change one or two more times in these first weeks! I have been thinking that since I know my cycles are usually around 45 days, I don't think I ovulated until later. Which would put me at a due date of February 27th, 2012, which makes me 4wks 6days today. Tomorrow will be 5 weeks! I decided to go ahead and move it back to save myself from disappointment later. I would much rather the doctor tell me I'm farther along than I thought, than get there and him say "ooh, go back 2 weeks." I don't want to feel like im losing progress! Especially during this fragile first trimester!

Yesterday I went to work. I kept feeling SO dizzy. Like, if i turned my head to quickly, it took the rest of the room a little longer to catch up. I ate some breakfast on the way there and quickly realized it wasn't going to stay down. I got sick but trucked on through the next hour or so. Finally around 11 i kept being disoriented, finding myself sitting and staring. Vicky had asked me if i was ok three times by now, so finally I just said "I wasn't going to tell you guys yet, but I found out I'm pregnant last Saturday!" They were very excited for me! Paula jumped up and down and hugged me, saying "That's great! That's great!" Then they said no one was really on the schedule for the rest of the day and I could head home. So I did :) Tyler came over and brought Sulley and the dogs played and we relaxed and watched tv. Then last night we went to eat at Zaxbys (where I consumed my 6th grilled cheese of the week) I have been a grilled cheese-aholic!!! It's been one of the only things that sounds appetizing. Matt and I came home and watched a lifetime movie "Deadly Honeymoon," it was pretty good, actually! Then went to sleep.

This morning we woke up and went to church then went to lunch and WalMart (which is always a funny trip). Then came home and relaxed for a bit before matt went out to work in the yard. I find myself not being able to hold my eyes open. I came up and took a nap and am now sitting here typing to you while Matt is making us some dinner :) Lovely ! It was a good, relaxing weekend. I am feeling pretty good overall, besides the constant dull headache and heavy eyelids! Plus, I'm breaking out, which is super annoying. Zit city!

Matt has been VERY serious about me taking it easy. He wouldn't even let me carry in one grocery bag today. He read the other day that even if I think it's ok to lift something, it can be risky in the first trimester. So, I'm not allowed to lift a finger. Wonder how long the spoiling will last? haha. I am definitely not taking it for granted right now, I am so thankful and blessed and appreciative at how much Matt is taking over and doing for me! I love him so much and couldn't be more thrilled that he is thrilled! :)

Update soon!!

pictures from when i told lindsey

4wks 5 days

Pregnancy Highlights

How Far along? 4 wks 5 days

Size of the Baby? The size of a poppy seed

Maternity Clothes? Ha!

Gender? Everyone except two people have referred to it as a "she"

Movement? Definitely not.

Sleep? Two nights ago was the first night in nearly 3 years that I haven't taken some sort of sleeping pill. It wasn't a GREAT nights sleep, lots of crazy dreams and woke up to go to the bathroom several times!

Cravings? Meat sounds DISGUSTING to me right now. I haven't eaten any since the day I found out I was pregnant (that day I ate a turkey sandwich from subway and tacos at monterreys). Cathleen brought me a chicken biscuit from Chicfila on Monday morning to practice and I only ate the biscuit part. Grilled Cheese Sandwiches and Sweet Potato fries are in high demand. Also, cheese pizza and frozen fruit bars. This morning matt brought me bacon and cheese biscuits in bed, but i took the bacon off.

Symptoms? Cramps from my uterus growing. Just a general feeling of uneasiness. Some nausea but not too bad. Today marks the first day I've felt the "pregnancy exhaustion!" Luckily, I had nothing to do today and have been resting. Peeing... a lot.

What I miss? Not getting grossed out by certain kinds of food! I was flipping through a magazine in the doctor's office yesterday and saw an ad for Jimmy Dean breakfast bowls and I gagged out loud!! how embarrassing! Also Hardee's commercials where a big juicy burger slams down from the sky, GROSS. ME. OUT! belch.

Milestones? 6 wks! I may have an ultra sound scheduled for Monday, depending on if these cramps keep happening (im supposed to call the OB back on Monday). Other than that, I don't go to the doctor until July 8th!

telling my best friends the news :)

the video speaks for itself. all you need to know is that i eat dinner with my 4 best friends every Monday night at Sarah's mom's house. I called and told Londie on Saturday night so we could prepare for Monday night dinner. We decided that we should put cupcakes out at each person's plate and all of theirs would say "Aunt" and mine would say "Mom." All of us went out on the porch after dinner and Londa told us we had to stay out there until she told us to come in because she had a surprise for us. I played along, asking Sarah "What in the world is she going to tell us?" Sarah said "I have NO IDEA!" .....

sweet meg is standing in the corner crying over there!! haha. also, please excuse my curly hair.. the humidity outside killed me and we were waiting out there for a while!! i promise i straightened it that day!

once the girls knew, we had to go tell jordan's mom (my best friends moms are like my second moms!) this is how bonnie reacted when jordan showed her the cupcake that said "aunt" ...

is she or isn't she?

last night i kept having these crazy dreams that i was pregnant. and when i would wake up from them, i felt like i was. around 10 am i couldn't take it anymore, i had to go to the bathroom and i decided to take a test. after i peed on the stick i sat there blinking my eyes a million times because i swore i saw a second line showing up!! i put it on the counter and ran into the room and said "matt! get up, i need you to come look at this!" and he said "look at what?? bring it in here!" i said "no, come here. i think i see a second line forming on this pregnancy test!" he shot out of bed and ran in the bathroom and looked from far away and said "I just see one line" i said "look closer" and he looked then immediately started cheering and saying "Yay!!!! Annie!!! WE GONNA HAVE A HUMAN BABY!" Then tried to pick me up and cheer .... i stood there, stoic, staring in the mirror with a confused face and said "that can't be right? is that right?? that's not right!"

i immediately started scampering to get dressed and said "im going to cvs to get more!" i got in my car and zoomed up to the drug store. couldnt decide which kind to buy so i got the digital one, easy enough, right?? it says "Pregnant" or "Not Pregnant." I rushed back home to take it, after guzzling a gatorade, and oddly enough, it said "non pregnant." WHAT? I got online and started researching and also called/texted my trusty friends Megan and Whitney (from The Meade Feed and Dear Baby E) who have been through it before! Both of them, and all of the websites, told me that the line test is more accurate if you are before your missed period, where as the digital tests aren't usually accurate until after your missed period. Since i have the weirdest cycle of any person I know, I had no idea when my missed period was supposed to be. Matt (who has instantly become a pregnancy know-it-all) assured me that I needed to calm down, and take another test in the morning. (Pregnancy tests are most accurate at your first morning 'void'). We headed to Subway to grab some lunch and I couldn't resist. I begged him to let us go to Bi-Lo and get another kind of test, surely it would help to confirm!! We did. Came home. Took it. Two lines. Two VERY FAINT lines, but there they were.

I called my mom immediately and told her the whole story. She said "i think you are!!!" Then Matt and I planned to go meet my brother for dinner at Monterreys (of course!!) We told him, and he thought we were kidding, then was very excited to be "the cool uncle who buys beer and stuff." (that will change :) ) Matt cheered the whole way home "I am so excited! Baby! I am SO excited!" While I sat there saying "So, if we have a baby, it would be born around Valentine's Day" and Matt says "It's not IF !!!! You are pregnant!"

continued Father's Day, June 20, 2011

we woke up this morning and I took the other digital test. Sure enough, today it said "PREGNANT!" I gave Matt a Father's Day card that I bought at CVS yesterday. He cried and it was sweet. Then we headed to church to meet Dad and Tyler. The entire service I felt sick and was burping and gagging (gross!!) we were in the SECOND row, middle, so i felt like i could not get up and run out. I prayed the whole way through church and Jesus got me through it! After church, we headed to Liberty to eat lunch. I gave Dad a Father's Day card for a Grandpa. It ended up being really cute! He was so surprised and definitely happy! Then we went over to Matt's house to tell Cindy and Kelleigh! They both said they had a feeling that's why we were coming over and were very excited, as well! We went home and rested for a bit then trekked on over to Mom's for a cookout with them. Everyone knew, except my sister, Lindsey. Her 21st birthday is coming up, so I told her I got her an early present while we were at the beach. She opened it, and I had put the digital pregnancy test in a nice bracelet box. She opened it and it took her a minute to catch on and then she cried and we all cried! :) It was a really good day!

This was our counter by the end of the day: Every single one had two lines... except for the first one, which was one that i took at the beach earlier in the week.
