6 WEEKS

Pregnancy Highlights

How Far along? 6 weeks

Size of the Baby? The size of a sweet pea... blueberry...lentil bean

Maternity Clothes? Not yet. The jeans are a little tight fitting, as I am bloated.

Gender? Still going with girl, although a lot of followers have jumped on the blue train!

Movement? Definitely not.

Sleep? WHENEVER I CAN! Naps are a regular occurrence! Most of my days are like ... wake up at 8:30, go to practice. come home, eat lunch. Take a nap from about 1:30-3:30. Then in bed before midnight.

Cravings? Mexican. But I have craved that my whole life, so I don't think it's little baby bee doing that. Apple Juice always sounds delicious!

Symptoms? BREAK OUTS!!!!!! I told Matt he could easily play connect the dots on my face if he'd like. Sometimes in the middle of a meal I become totally uninterested and feel nauseas, but haven't actaully thrown up yet. I'm very sleepy and I'm still a frequent visitor at the Oval Office.

What I miss? Nothing yet. I'm totally happy to be pregnant! :)

Milestones? WE'RE HALFWAY THROUGH THE FIRST TRIMESTER!

This week's major developments: The nose, mouth, and ears that you'll spend so much time kissing in eight months are beginning to take shape. If you could see into your uterus, you'd find an oversize head and dark spots where your baby's eyes and nostrils are starting to form. His emerging ears are marked by small depressions on the sides of the head, and his arms and legs by protruding buds. His heart is beating about 100 to 160 times a minute -- almost twice as fast as yours -- and blood is beginning to course through his body. His intestines are developing, and the bud of tissue that will give rise to his lungs has appeared. His pituitary gland is forming, as are the rest of his brain, muscles, and bones. Right now, your baby is a quarter of an inch long, about the size of a lentil bean.

  1. Maybe they will give you a gender guess early like they did with us ;)
I remember the first several weeks going by SO incredibly slow. I honestly thought in my head, how am I going to make it 9 months?!? I'm ready to see this baby now! :) As of now, it's going by pretty fast and currently very enjoyable... We will see how I feel as the third trimester comes on and I just continue to become MORE of a house!

  2. All I have to say as that I craved apple juice like CRAZY. I'm on the PINK train, because of course, Baby L needs a friend at Clemson!
