11 Week Update

Pregnancy Highlights

How Far along? 11 weeks

Size of the Baby? A large plum :)

Maternity Clothes? sooner than later people. only my cutoff shorts that were already two sizes to big are comfortable. other than that i've been wearing that black skirt in the belly pics below all week. anything pressing too hard on my stomach makes me feel sick but i think it's still too early for maternity pants.

Gender? I still think girl. We find out for sure on September 8th! YAYYYY

Movement? Yes, but I can't feel it yet.

Sleep? As late as I can. If/when I get up early I feel a lot more sick during the day.

Cravings? Nothing crazy specific. Today is the first time i've gone to the grocery store in FOREVER and with an appetite. I came home with Stouffer's Mac n Cheese, Air Head popsicles, Grapes, Cheddar and Sour Cream Potato Chips, and stuff to make tacos for dinner. Yeahhhhhh, not so healthy, but at least I have an appetite again!!

Symptoms? The nausea has finally gone down some more. Except for today, I got overheated in this awful summer sun and got sick. Other than that I've been having some killer headaches every once in a while and a little bit of back pain.

What I miss? a cold beer on a hot day

Milestones? The baby is growing fingernails and toenails this week! :) We'll soon be able to find out how many toes baby bolt has :)

Weight Gain? -2 lbs.

What I’m nervous about? I'm getting ahead of myself, but breastfeeding. I feel like everything I've read lately is preparing you for cracked and bleeding nipples. Seriously?? Hope this baby is as gentle as a lamb

What I’m excited about? Doctor's appointment Friday!!!! Getting to see baby again!! and no blood draw this time so hopefully no passing out !

Baby Center Update for Week 11:

Your baby, just over 1 1/2 inches long and about the size of a fig, is now almost fully formed. Her hands will soon open and close into fists, tiny tooth buds are beginning to appear under her gums, and some of her bones are beginning to harden. She's already busy kicking and stretching, and her tiny movements are so effortless they look like water ballet. These movements will become more frequent as her body grows and becomes more developed and functional. You won't feel your baby's acrobatics for another month or two — nor will you notice the hiccupping that may be happening now that her diaphragm is forming.

  1. Yay baby Bolt! Don't worry about the breastfeeding. I didn't have any cracked or bleeding nipples at first. It just depends on the latch and the baby i guess. :) Breastfeeding can be tough at times and if it doesn't workout you'll still be a great mommy no matter what. :)

  2. Way to go! 11 weeks - so exciting! I did have the bleeding nipples ( a little) in the beginning, but the first week or so is always difficult. Once you get over that hump, everything is wonderful! You will do great. :) I would definitely get a breastpump b/c while I couldn't breastfeed while I was bleeding, I still kept pumping which helped keep the supply up! You'll learn lots of little secrets along the way. :)
