10 week update

Pregnancy Highlights

How Far along? 10 weeks 1 day

Size of the Baby? prune early in the week... then a LIME!!!! little lime babyyy

Maternity Clothes? no, but dad and susie gave me a gift card to Destination Maternity for my birthday along with a super cute orange and white tank to wear to football games! :)

Gender? Intelligender said Baby GIRL which confirms my suspicions. Gender ultrasound appt is scheduled for September 8th! I can't wait!!!

Movement? There was movement on the ultrasound I had last Friday!! I saw baby kicking it's sweet little feet

Sleep? Still, as much as possible.

Cravings? Not really. I start thinking something sounds good, but if I dont eat it right away, I have no more interest in it. Most things sound gross still.

Symptoms? I spoke too soon last week. Every night for the past week, I've thrown up about 15 minutes after I lay down in bed. It's so annoying and its gross and it hurts and I hate it. I can't wait to get past this stomach crap. Also this morning i woke up with a migraine and have been researching how to get rid of it when I can tolerate the light from the computer.

What I miss? colder weather, still. feeling well. going out to eat and making it through dinner without feeling like im going to pass out. not BURPING so much. i burp ALLLLL The time and if it's something that doesn't taste good, I throw up. Disgusting.

Milestones? Seeing how much bigger the baby got since our first appt was awesome!! And seeing it moving around in there and actually looking like something besides a peanut :)

Baby Center Update for week 10:

Though he's barely the size of a kumquat — a little over an inch or so long, crown to bottom — and weighs less than a quarter of an ounce, your baby has now completed the most critical portion of his development. This is the beginning of the so-called fetal period, a time when the tissues and organs in his body rapidly grow and mature.

He's swallowing fluid and kicking up a storm. Vital organs — including his kidneys, intestines, brain, and liver (now making red blood cells in place of the disappearing yolk sac) — are in place and starting to function, though they'll continue to develop throughout your pregnancy.

If you could take a peek inside your womb, you'd spot minute details, like tiny nails forming on fingers and toes (no more webbing) and peach-fuzz hair beginning to grow on tender skin.

In other developments: Your baby's limbs can bend now. His hands are flexed at the wrist and meet over his heart, and his feet may be long enough to meet in front of his body. The outline of his spine is clearly visible through translucent skin, and spinal nerves are beginning to stretch out from his spinal cord. Your baby's forehead temporarily bulges with his developing brain and sits very high on his head, which measures half the length of his body. From crown to rump, he's about 1 1/4 inches long. In the coming weeks, your baby will again double in size — to nearly 3 inches.

** If you're wondering what a kumquat is, then you must not have had an economics class at Clemson University. haha! These are some kumquats compared to an orange:

  1. Oh boo, I remember the week of the kumquat. I was so sick. I feel your pain!! And the burping... yeah, it's one of those things that nobody tells you about pregnancy. Baby Bolt is HEALTHY!

  2. The burping is awful! I still burp more than I use to, even at 20 weeks. The nasty taste definitely goes away though! You shouldn't be but a couple of weeks away from the symptoms starting to ease up though! A trick I learned is if you know you are going to throw up, drink some milk before hand. That way, throwing up doesn't burn. I know it's gross but if you are going to throw up anyway....
